SOUTHAMPTON  VILLAGE  VOLUNTEER  AMBULANCE

The Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance (SVVA) could use your help to furnish the new headquarters.

The SVVA provides 24-hour emergency care for our family, friends and neighbors in this community. Please help us so that we may better server others in their time of need.

It’s been 10 years in the making and now The Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance (SVVA) is finally getting the much-needed new headquarters. 15 years ago, the SVVA operated 2 ambulances with 15 members (volunteers), responding to approximately 400 calls per year. Today, the SVVA has 3 Advanced Life Support equipped ambulances, 66 members, a 24/7 paid paramedic and Advanced Life Support First Responders answering over 800 calls. The SVVA also has a large-scale incident/rehab trailer, multiple first response vehicles and a beach rescue UTV. The old building on Meeting House Lane is not only showing signs of its’ age, but there is no longer enough space to sufficiently house all of the equipment and members.

The project stretched over 10 years, because the SVVA’s new headquarters planning committee exercised due diligence. They conducted extensive research on the long-term needs of the community and tried to balance that with cost. The committee toured a wide variety of ambulance facilities, met with professionals and evaluated different designs and overall price. They found a solution which met their equipment, storage and training needs with room for growth while staying on budget.

Fundraising is currently underway to supply desks, chairs, tables, storage lockers, training supplies and equipment, computers, and other necessary items. Robert Gill of Hampton Fabric & Blinds has generously donated all of the window treatments for the new headquarters. The Southampton Association has also been generous and hosted a fundraiser to collect funds for the fitness equipment. A cocktail reception will be held on September 27th to thank the donors and to further fundraise for any items not already donated.

The Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance (SVVA) provides 24-hour emergency care and transport of sick and injured people in the Village of Southampton. These services are also provided beyond the Village boundaries at the request of town, county, state, or federal agencies. In addition to the mission of providing emergency care, the SVVA also offers Community CPR and First Aid programs.

The new building will be located at 165 Windmill Lane, Southampton, NY 11968.
